Arburg consolidates additive manufacturing divisions and appoints new director

injection molding

Dr. Victor Roman will take the reins of Arburg Additive on Dec. 1, 2021.

Arburg Additive is the name of a new subsidiary launched by Arburg GmbH, a Lossburg, Germany, builder of injection-molding, 3D-printing, and other manufacturing equipment. The parent company also named Dr. Victor Roman managing director of the additive group.

The move highlights the future potential that the company says AM holds as a key supplementary method of producing plastic parts. According to Arburg, following development of its Freeformer plastic 3D printing system and acquisition of filament-style printer manufacturer innovatiQ, it made sense to combine the full range of AM activities under one roof.

Prior to taking over the duties at Arburg Additive, Roman spent more than 20 years at an international technology group, a role that gave him extensive experience in product development, sales, and additive manufacturing.
