Jabil offers solutions for users of 3D printing materials

Jabil has introduced a program for formulating, integrating, and validating custom-engineered materials for users of additive manufacturing technology.

The approach considers processes and machines, matching specific part performance with an application’s requirements.

According to Jabil, St. Petersburg, Fla., its approach ensures greater availability of unique materials while reducing time-to-market and cost and enhancement of part quality.

Plus, the company has opened a new facility—the Materials Innovation Center—near Minneapolis to deliver complete 3D printing solutions for users of additive technology. AM engineers, chemists, materials scientists, and production experts at the center consult with customers, leverage Jabil’s materials-science capabilities, and oversee the formulating of custom powders and filaments.

The rapid iteration and certified production of these engineered materials will provide customers with a faster path from prototyping to production than is currently possible, says the company.
