NASCAR champion opens hybrid machining/additive manufacturing shop

NASCAR racecar champion Brad Keselowski has opened an advanced-technology manufacturing facility in Statesville, N.C.

Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing (KAM) formally unveiled its new 70,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in January. Opened late last year by NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski, the Statesville, N.C., shop employs 30, a number the owner expects to grow to 100 by year’s end.

KAM’s capabilities include:

  • additive manufacturing
  • CNC machining
  • design and engineering
  • post-processing
  • powder analysis
  • mechanical testing
  • scanning and quality control

The combination of diverse metal manufacturing technologies allows KAM to be a high-tech solutions provider for customers, says the company.

“The capabilities of new technologies are limited only by our imaginations and willingness to act,” said Keselowski. “Until now, much of this advanced manufacturing technology was considered too complex and too expensive for production-level applications. By combining additive manufacturing with subtractive capabilities, the goal of KAM is to lead the way for the next industrial revolution by making these technologies more accessible.”
