Praxair Surface Technologies announces winners of TruForm additive manufacturing grant

Praxair Surface Technologies, a supplier of TruForm brand metal powders to the additive manufacturing (AM) industry, has announced the winners of its TruForm AMbition Grants to universities involved in AM.

The following grant recipients will receive metal powder for 3-D printing, as well as material testing and consultation from the Praxair team:

• Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis
• University of Dayton
• University of Louisville
• University of Pittsburgh
• Pennsylvania State University
• Oklahoma State University-Stillwater

The winning projects involved multiple 3-D printing technologies, including laser powder bed, directed energy deposition, and binder jetting. Praxair Surface Technologies will partner with the AM programs at the selected universities to assist with analysis of microstructure effects and to help improve process parameters and part properties using the company’s variety of metal alloys.
