9T Labs helps customers 3D-print continuous-fiber-reinforced plastic parts at production volumes.

Additive manufacturer 9T Labs is set to open its first U.S. office, in Boston, after recently incorporating in the United States. The Zurich, Switzerland, company, which specializes in series production of composite components, also announced plans to further commercialize its Red Series Additive Fusion Solution platform for the production of continuous-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite parts.

The Red Series process combines 3D printing and metal molding, and the package includes hardware (Build Module and Fusion Module), software, engineering services, materials, and training.

Spurring the opening of the Boston office and stepped up Red Series commercialization efforts was 9T Labs’ completion of a $17 million round of Series A funding earlier this year.
