Used 3D printer seller/repair service provider offers everything from ‘A’ to ‘W’

3D systems

Pivot AM’s experience repairing 3D printers dates back more than 30 years.

Pivot AM Service offers a slate of 3D printing-related products and services—everything from auctioning and selling used 3D printers to installing, maintaining, and repairing them to selling build materials and parts washers.

The Pella, Iowa, company, which traces its roots back 30-plus years to repairing additive manufacturing equipment, recently launched a website called Pivot AM Auctions. Visitors to the site can sell and bid on used additive equipment.

Pivot limits items that can be auctioned to industrial, production, and professional 3D printing/AM equipment. Sellers pay a $250 listing fee to Pivot, which works with them to select photos and ensure the accuracy of information about their machines. Equipment buyers pay an 8% commission fee in addition to the purchase price. The equipment resides with the seller until the time of sale.

Pivot can arrange to uninstall, crate, transport, and re-install equipment if desired.

The company’s SLA (stereolithography) parts washer, called ACE, is fully pneumatic, washes parts while they’re on the printer’s build plate, and reportedly accommodates large build platforms. The company says ACE is compatible with nearly all SLA printers, including the Stratasys V650 Flex; RPS Neo800; Formlabs Form 3L; 3D Systems’ ProX 800, ProJet 6000, and ProJet 7000; and many legacy systems.
