High-strength filament from igus is for 3D-printing structural components

Motion-device manufacturer igus has introduced igumid P190, a plastic filament reinforced with carbon fibers. The material is suitable for additively manufacturing structural components, connecting elements for cable carriers, and, when used in combination with the manufacturer’s iglide i190, multimaterial objects.

According to the company, the high-rigidity, lightweight material is up to 50 times more abrasion-resistant than competitive filament.

Customers can order the filament for use at their facilities or have igus 3D-print parts from it. The company has been offering multimaterial printing services since 2020.
