Kennametal introduces Stellite powder for LPB additive manufacturing

The new Stellite 21 AM metal alloy for laser powder bed 3D printers offers the wear and corrosion resistance needed for parts used by the oil and gas and power-generation industries, according to the manufacturer, Kennametal.

Reportedly the first Stellite powder qualified for LPB printers, its cobalt-chrome-molybdenum alloy matrix includes hard carbides to increase hardness while reducing ductility.

Kennametal recently expanded its offerings by introducing Delcrome 17-4 AM and Delcrome 316L AM powders for direct metal laser sintering printers.
