Multilaser 3D printer from Renishaw

Renishaw’s RenAM 500Q metal additive manufacturing system has four 500-W lasers, each able to access the whole powder bed surface simultaneously. This capability results in faster build rates, which raises productivity and lowers the cost per part, says the manufacturer.

The company cites these benefits of the system: prints a large variety of parts; deposits material at up to 150 cm³/hour; “intelligent” gas flow, which ensures efficient removal of process emissions and extends filter life; 3D-printed galvanometer mounting designed with internal, conformal fluid-cooling channels that enhance the thermal stability of the optical system; build volume of 250 by 250 by 350 mm; and integrated sieving and powder recirculation.
