New customizable additive manufacturing build sheets

The Belgian chemical company Solvay has announced the availability of a new line of AM build sheets compatible with fused deposition modelding-style 3D printers. Sold under its Ajedium brand, the sheets—on which layers of extruded filament are built up—are intended for applications involving specialty polymer filaments.

The sheets can be ordered to size and thickness, allowing them to meet the specific dimensions of different printers, and are also available with adhesive backing to protect the build surface and prevent defects during the printing process. The sheets are available in different high-performance polymers, including the company’s Udel PSU, Radel PPSU, and KetaSpire PEEK.

Solvay says the sheets exhibit high stiffnes, flatness, durability, thermal resistance, and adhesive characteristics.
