Black liquid topcoat retains color, gloss in changing environments
PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business has introduced SPECTRACRON® polyester urethane (SPU) coating, a mid-gloss black liquid topcoat engineered to maintain and control color and gloss on metal finishes in changing coating-application environments.
The two-component topcoat consistently meets and maintains 55 to 65 units of gloss at 60-degree gloss in a variety of conditions, the company says. When applied according to PPG specifications, it provides wide application windows, improved hiding, sag control, and solvent-pop resistance.
The product is suitable for use in the appliance, auto parts and accessories, and transportation equipment and components markets.
