Felling Trailers to celebrate 40th anniversary with open house Oct. 24

Felling Trailers Inc. will mark its 40th anniversary with a community open house with lunch on Friday, Oct. 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its Sauk Centre, Minn., location.

On Nov. 1, 1974, Kathy and Merle J. Felling purchased Sauk Centre Welding, a small welding shop that catered to local farmers and businesses by doing repairs and small custom welding and fabrication jobs. They changed the business name to Sauk Centre Welding & Machine Works Inc., offering farm and industrial equipment repair, custom fabrication, and manufacturing of farm equipment.

The company soon began producing its own line of trailers under the brand name Felling. After five facility additions, the company moved to its current location and officially changed its name to Felling Trailers Inc. In 2012 Felling Trailers opened a second production facility in Litchfield, Minn., bringing its office and production facilities to more than 250,000 sq. ft. and employing 250 people.
