fill ratio

 noun

Definitions

  1. The difference in the speed of movement of the metal strip at the entry and exit areas of a tube mill. In small-tube production, fill ratios are typically in the 3-to-1 range. This means that if a tube mill is producing at 300 feet per minute, the entry system and accumulator fill mechanism must operate at 900 feet per minute.
