AWS issues call for entries in 8th Annual Image of Welding Awards

The American Welding Society (AWS), Miami, has issued a call for entries in the 8th Annual Image of Welding Awards program. This competition salutes the year's most outstanding public initiatives and programs that promote the image of welding. The entry deadline is July 12, 2010.

The competition is open to all welding industry professionals. The awards are presented by AWS and its Welding Equipment Manufacturers Committee (WEMCO). The committee, comprising executives of welding industry suppliers, promotes the welding equipment market.

Awards are issued in seven categories. All individuals, organizations, and groups may be nominated for multiple categories. Self-nominations also are welcome. Winners will be honored at the Image of Welding Awards Ceremony to be held during FABTECH® Nov. 2-4, 2010, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The awards program recognizes achievement in the following categories: individual, section (AWS local chapter), large business (200 or more employees), small business (less than 200 employees), distributor, educator, and educational facility.
