Miller announces acquisition of Impact Eng.
Miller Electric Mfg. Co., a manufacturer of arc welding products in Appleton, Wis., has announced its acquisition of Impact Eng. of Jackson, Mich., a manufacturer of weld data monitoring systems.
Impact Eng. has previously partnered with Miller on welding information product development. As part of the acquisition, Impact Eng.’s products, including ARCAgent™ and ARClient®, will become part of the Miller Welding Intelligence™ product offering.
This product offering currently includes Insight Core™, a simplified, Internet-based welding information system, and Insight Centerpoint™, which offers advanced, real-time operator feedback and process controls. The product additions from Impact Eng., specifically ARCAgent, will allow users with mixed fleets of welding equipment, including non-Miller machines, to use the Welding Intelligence systems.
The Impact Eng. company name will phase out at a future date.
