Emhart Teknologies acquires Fastener Innovation Technology

Emhart Teknologies, a Black & Decker Company and producer of fastening and assembly technologies in Shelton, Conn., has acquired Fastener Innovation Technology Inc. (FIT), a designer and manufacturer of aerospace fasteners based in Gardena, Calif.

FIT has long-term customer relationships with Boeing, Honeywell, Bell, GE, Pratt & Whitney, Embraer, and Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. The company's products encompass high-strength materials such as steel alloys, titanium, and superalloys.

Randy Aardema will lead FIT as general manager. He recently joined Emhart from Acument Aerospace and was with Textron Fastening Systems before that.
