Applied Manufacturing Technologies acquires K-R Automation

Applied Manufacturing Technologies Inc. (AMT), Orion, Mich., a supplier of factory automation design, engineering, and process consulting services, has acquired K-R Automation, Warren, Mich., a panel manufacturer and provider of automation controls design and engineering. AMT expects the acquisition to enhance its ability to meet demand for controls engineering, design, software, and panel fabrication.

AMT, which will incorporate K-R Automation into its existing operations, maintains K-R's manufacturing and engineering facility in Warren. K-R Automation President and CEO John Frank has assumed a new role on AMT's executive team, reporting to AMT President and CEO Mike Jacobs.
