Kuka opens new aerospace facility in France

Kuka Systems Aerospace has opened a new R&D and production facility for advanced automation systems in Le Haillan, France. The plant manufactures multifunction end effectors for robotic processes used in aircraft assembly.

The company acquired the French operation Alema Automation, a manufacturer of aerospace tooling for stationary, track-mounted, and mobile robotic platforms, in March 2014. That followed years of a distributorship agreement and close collaboration between the companies.

The new facility comprises about 15,500 sq. ft. of production space and about 12,000 sq. ft. for engineering and other departments.
