InSinkErator purchases CWP press feeding system

InSinkErator, based in Racine, Wis., a business unit of Emerson, has purchased a CWP 18- by 0.030-in. by 15,000-lb. zigzag press feeding system from Formtek Maine, Clinton, Maine, to manufacture parts for its food waste disposal units. The system features a stock reel, straightener, threading tables, and zigzag servo feed.

The 5R-18 stock reel has capacities of 72 in. OD and 17.5 to 22.5 in. ID. It was supplied with hydraulic expansion, hydraulic inching drive, and an ultrasonic variable-tension brake, a positioning scale, and tie brackets for alignment.

The 18B stock straightener has matte chrome pinch rolls and smooth chrome straightening rolls, a powered high-rise head to allow the straightener to open 6 in. for roll access, dial indicators, and air lift entry pinch rolls. An 18PTT11 threading table threads the material from the straightener to the servo feed.

The ZSMXSE18 zigzag servo feed features an automatic lubrication system; entry and exit quick-release, cam lock, adjustable edge guides; and an adjustable-height cabinet base. A B&R control platform allows for sequential or simultaneous zigzag feeding with three-out capability.
