Durable goods orders down sharply in July
New orders for manufactured durable goods in July decreased $10.6 billion or 4.9 percent to $204.7 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced today. This followed a 1.9 percent June increase. The decline was the largest in 18 months. Orders fell by 5.7 percent in January 2004.
