Jobless claims drop

The number of people filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell to 334,000 in the week ended Nov. 13, down 3,000 from a revised 337,000 in the previous week, the U.S. Department of Labor reported.

The number of people who continued to draw unemployment benefits for the week of Nov. 6 dropped 16,000 from the previous week for a total of 2.79 million. A year ago, 3.5 million people were collecting benefits.
