ESAB appoints vice presidents

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products, Florence, S.C., has named David Abe as vice president of sales, western zone; Jerry Gleisner as vice president of sales, eastern zone; George Learmonth as vice president of strategic accounts, North America; and Greg Stauffer as vice president of sales support.

Abe oversees all of the company's sales activities for the western U.S. Most recently he served as executive vice president, sales and marketing, for WIKA Instrument Corp. He has 28 years of management experience and spent most of his career in the welding industry with Harris Calorific, a division of the Lincoln Electric Co. Abe holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University.

Gleisner oversees all sales activities for the eastern U.S. He served most recently as zone manager for Sandvik Coromant. Gleisner has a bachelor's degree in industrial technology from Southern Illinois University.

Learmonth, who has been in the welding industry for 25 years, oversees sales activities to large end users and major distributors in the U.S. He served previously as the company's director of strategic accounts. Learmonth holds an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University and a bachelor's degree in welding engineering from The Ohio State University.

Stauffer oversees all of the company's sales support, including inside sales, application engineering, customer service, training, recruiting, and business systems for the U.S. During his 28 years with the company, he has served as territory sales manager, area sales manager, regional sales manager, and vice president of sales. He holds a bachelor's degree in education from Morningside College.

ESAB manufactures welding and cutting equipment and welding filler metals.
