Precision Coating acquires Boyd Coatings Research

Boston-based Precision Coating Co. Inc. has acquired Boyd Coatings Research Co. Inc., a provider of coating application services based in Hudson, Mass. Together they will provide extensive and complementary fluoropolymer (Teflon®/PTFE) application services to the medical device and highly engineered components markets.

The company maintains its Hudson location, and customer contacts remain the same. The companies continue to operate under their respective trade names.

Key initiatives of the acquisition include expanded automated coating capacity; enhanced organizational capabilities with an increased focus on engineering and quality, including PTFE formulation; and establishment of a coating facility in Costa Rica.
