Hobart Institute of Welding Technology has announced its 2005 schedule for the American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector/Educator preparation course and examination held in Troy, Ohio.
Approved by the State of Ohio Approving Agency for Veteran's Benefits, the two-week course is designed to prepare students to take the AWS exam. Throughout the course, students use the same tools that are used in the test kits for the practical, hands-on portion of the exam. Participants are responsible for bringing to the course a scientific hand calculator along with the AWS QC1 Standard, and the code they specified on the AWS application form. A registration form and tuition payment must be submitted to the Institute for the course.
Class starting dates are Jan. 10, March 7, April 25, June 20, July 25, Oct. 10, and Dec. 5. Examinations are administered on the tenth day of the two-week course: Jan. 21, March 18, May 6, July 1, Aug. 5, Oct. 21, and Dec. 16.
AWS requires a minimum of seven weeks to process applications for the exam. It is the responsibility of the participant to make the application, be accepted, and be scheduled by the AWS Qualification and Certification Department. The application fee is payable to AWS.
