Houghton Intl. appoints marketing manager

Houghton Intl. Inc. has appointed Walter Melton as marketing manager of its Cleaner Technology product group. Melton is responsible for increasing profitability and market share for the company’s metal surface cleaning products.

Melton came to Houghton from Chemtall Oakite, where he served as sales and marketing manager. He has 28 years’ experience in strategic marketing, including the development and launch of new products in the specialty chemicals and food processing industries when he worked at Rochester Midland.

Melton studied chemical engineering at Southern Illinois University. He has been a member of the American Electroplaters Association and the National Association of Corrosion Engineers.
