Bystronic Challenge encourages fabricators to try fiber lasers

Bystronic has announced the Ultimate Fiber Challenge to introduce fabricators to fiber laser technology, especially those manufacturing parts less than 0.1875 in. To participate in the challenge, click here. Fabricators can e-mail the company up to three DXF files. The company then will conduct an analysis of the parts and provide time estimates and cost of the part calculations.

According to the manufacturer, fiber lasers offer fast cutting of thin sheet metal; low operating costs because of minimal energy use and no mirrors, lasing gas, gas circulators, or vacuum pumps; the ability to process mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and copper with excellent cut quality; and a variety of laser powers for cutting material thicknesses up to 0.75 in.
