Metal Spinners adds fiber laser system for aerospace component fabrication

Metal Spinners Inc., a Malden, Mass., job shop offering multiaxis laser cutting and engineering services for turbine engine components, has acquired a turnkey Laserdyne 795XL system with a third-generation BeamDirector and an IPG fiber laser.

The company offers fabricating, machining, and assembling of high-temperature alloys and other difficult-to-machine and -form alloys. Its laser certifications include GE S422, Allied Signal PNCP52525 and P6063, and Nadcap.

The system can control six axes of motion with an 80- by 40- by 40-in. work envelope. Featuring an S94P controller, the system provides access to parts for 2-D and 3-D cutting, drilling, and welding.
