Standard Iron & Wire Works opens new manufacturing facility

Standard Iron & Wire Works is opening a new manufacturing facility in Grand Island, Neb.

The initial facility will have 20,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space. It will house a 4,000-W laser, a turret punch, press brakes, and welding capabilities. It also will contain short- to medium-run stamping capabilities.

Ray Saunders has been hired as the facility's general manager. He has more than 33 years' manufacturing experience, most recently as general manager for a large contract-manufacturing firm.

The company anticipates deliveries will begin in early May and that significant production capacity will be in place by mid-summer.
