Okuma event highlights emerging CNC machining technologies

Okuma America Corp. hosted more than 600 customers, partners, and distributors at its Manufacturing Excellence and Technology Showcase events, Dec. 8-10, 2015. Held at Okuma America’s headquarters and Aerospace Center for Excellence in Charlotte, N.C., the event highlighted emerging CNC machining technologies with a special concentration on aerospace manufacturing. Attendees came from Canada, Mexico, and 28 U.S. states.

The event included a variety of learning sessions and featured machine demos from top CNC machining experts. Attendees learned how to apply ecofriendly cryogenics from 5ME and additive manufacturing from RPM Innovations. The Industrial Internet of Things session demonstrated how connectivity in the shop can reveal comprehensive, real-time data.

Demonstrations featured cutting of such materials as INCONEL® alloy, titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum on more than 20 CNC machines.
