Aleris appoints CEO

Cleveland-based Aleris has appointed Sean Stack to the position of CEO. He served most recently as executive vice president/CEO, Aleris North America. He succeeds Steve Demetriou, chairman and CEO since the company’s inception in 2004, who is leaving the company to pursue a new leadership opportunity.

Since joining Aleris in 2004, Stack has held a number of executive leadership roles. Before joining the company, he held financial leadership positions at Noveon and Specialty Foods and worked as an investment banker at ABN AMRO. Stack has a master’s degree in management from the Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Aleris is a provider of aluminum rolled products for the aerospace, automotive, building and construction, commercial transportation, and industrial manufacturing industries.
