AMI Metals Inc. awarded five-year contract by BAE Systems

AMI Metals Inc., Brentwood, Tenn., a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., has been awarded a multiyear contract by BAE Systems to provide aluminum plate to support the requirements for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, Hawk, and Typhoon programs.

The five-year contract, with an estimated value of $100 million, runs Jan. 1, 2017, through Dec. 31, 2021, with the possibility of additional years. The contract requirements include value-added, JIT, cut-to-size, and cut-to-shape processing for use at BAE Systems and its subcontractor facilities.

This follows an award by Lockheed Martin, in October 2015, to provide aluminum products and services for the F-35 program in a five-year contract valued at an estimated $300 million.
