Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing welcomes Alcoa as newest member

The Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM), a research consortium that brings together businesses, Virginia universities, and the NASA Langley Research Center, has announced that Alcoa has joined the organization.

As an Organizing Industry Member, Alcoa, a provider of lightweight metals technology, engineering, and manufacturing, conducts proprietary research at CCAM's facility in Prince George County, Va., retains IP ownership of its developments, and collaborates with member companies on research for new manufacturing techniques and processes. Raymond J. Kilmer, executive vice president and chief technology officer of Alcoa, serves on the board of directors for CCAM, and Sherri McCleary, director of materials and process technologies, serves on its Technical Advisory Council.

The CCAM industry and government consortium currently has 28 members.
