Continued growth predicted in aluminum extrusion market
- December 2, 2015
- News Release
- Metals/Materials
RnRMarketResearch.com, Maharashtra, India, has released its Global Aluminum Extrusion Market Report, which predicts the aluminum extrusion market will grow at 7 percent CAGR through 2019.
Growth in the automobile industry is anticipated to drive the growth of this market during the forecast period. Aluminum extrusion is replacing steel in some vehicles because of its light weight, leading to fuel savings and reduced greenhouse gas emission. Aluminum also is easily recyclable and corrosion resistant.
The report segments the aluminum extrusion market into mill-finished, anodized, and power-coated products. The mill-finished segment accounted for 58 percent of the market share during 2014, and its share is expected to reach around 13 million metric tons by the end of 2019.
Building and construction is the largest end-use market for aluminum extrusions. The growth of this segment is anticipated to be at a rate of 7 percent during the forecast period.
China accounted for about 62 percent of the global market share for aluminum extrusions during 2014 and is expected to grow at a rate of 7 percent during the forecast period.
