Heyco Metals enters specialty precision stainless steel market

Heyco Metals Inc., a manufacturer of light-gauge coil, sheet, and strip, has announced a new initiative to supply thin-gauge stainless steel strip to new and existing customers and distributors.

Equipped with precision cluster and four-high rolling mills, high-temperature strand annealing, and Ungerer stretch band leveling capabilities, the company currently is producing annealed and cold-rolled tempers up to full hard in Type 301, 302, 304, and 304L austenitic grades, as well as T-430 ferritic stainless in gauges from 0.020 to 0.002 in., in widths up to 16 in.

Custom-ground work rolls and a Cognex vision system help ensure surface quality. Precision, low-tension loop slitters can slit down to 0.185-in. width.
