Primetals Technologies to modernize rebar rolling line for KWTSteel

Primetals Technologies, London, has received an order from United Steel Industrial Co. (KWTSteel), a Kuwait-based steel producer, to modernize its rebar rolling mill in the Shuaiba Industrial Area, Kuwait.

The rolling mill will be equipped with an inline Pomini quenching system and a new high-capacity hot dividing shear. The quenching system will produce the required material properties largely without the need for alloying elements.

The rolling mill is scheduled to go onstream in late 2015.
