Delta Steel Technologies, Irving, Texas, has shipped a 1- by 120-in. temper mill cut-to-length line with rotary shear to a U.S. service center. The equipment has been engineered to process the widest, thickest material ever produced on a temper mill cut-to-length line, the company reports.
The line, which produces ultraflat, stay-flat, high-strength steel, is scheduled for commissioning in the second quarter of 2013. According to the manufacturer, the steel sheet produced by the line will remain flat during subsequent thermal and nonthermal processes, including laser, shear, waterjet, and plasma cutting.
