Accuride products meet RoHS requirements

Accuride, a manufacturer of precision ball bearing slides in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., has achieved full compliance with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive. Products in compliance with the RoHS directive have restricted levels of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium (Cr6), PBB, and PBDE.

The company's zinc and white electrocoat finished products have been in compliance for some time, and recently the black electroplate finish was successfully reformulated to meet the directive's requirements. The new plating process replaces hexavalent chromium with trivalent chromium, which is a far less toxic substance.
