Americas Ovens division to expand in Cleveland

Manitowoc Foodservice, New Port Richey, Fla., has announced plans to expand manufacturing and establish a new headquarters for the Americas Ovens operating company at its Cleveland location.

The new, 30,000-sq.-ft. headquarters operation will include new quality systems, computerized work instructions, lean work flow systems, and warehouse operations. When the transition is complete in late 2012, the facility will produce Cleveland steamers, Garland® convection ovens, Convotherm® combination ovens, and Lincoln conveyor ovens.

The building also will include an expanded commercial kitchen for menu development, equipment testing, and sales training. Video and audio capabilities will allow remote instruction and demonstrations.

As part of the consolidation, Manitowoc will cease manufacturing operations at its Fort Wayne, Ind., facility over the next several months. The company will establish a satellite office in the Fort Wayne area, where the Lincoln customer service and technical support teams will continue to provide support services to resellers, end users, and service agencies.
