AMT VP receives NCDMM’s Lawrence J. Rhoades Award

AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology, McLean, Va., has announced that Vice President – Strategic Planning Paul Warndorf has been selected by the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) for the Lawrence J. Rhoades Award. Rhodes was a former chairman of the AMT board and a founder of NCDMM.

Warndorf joined AMT in 1996 and became vice president – manufacturing technology in 2003 to lead in the development of AMT’s Technology Roadmap for the Machine Tool Industry. He also led the start-up of the Smart Machine Platform Initiative. In 2007 he managed the creation of the MTConnect standard, which allows collection of shop floor data and communication among equipment and devices. He formed the MTConnect Institute for AMT to carry forward the further development of the standard and to meet ongoing data collection requirements.

Warndorf graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in electrical engineering and also received an MBA from Xavier University.
