Atlas Copco opens U.S. manufacturing plant

Sweden-based Atlas Copco has opened a new, $25 million plant in Rock Hill, S.C., that will manufacture portable compressors and generators for the construction market, as well as medical gas products for hospitals. The factory will employ about 330 people.

The company has moved these operations from another facility in Rock Hill to the new LEED® certified building. The factory incorporates lean manufacturing and includes the U.S. customer center.
