Beckmann Volmer to invest $10 million in Arkansas plant

Beckmann Volmer has announced plans to locate a new manufacturing facility in Osceola, Ark., spending $10 million and employing 300 people. The German company makes major steel components for wind turbines.

After its initial investment, the company has plans to invest an additional $7.5 million and hire another 200 employees.

The company is among the suppliers to Nordex USA Inc. of Chicago, which has a $100 million plant in Jonesboro that makes wind turbines. The largest component produced in Osceola will be turbine main frames, the structural backbone of the turbine.
