Berkshire Hathaway to acquire Precision Castparts Corp.
Berkshire Hathaway, Omaha, Neb., has announced plans to acquire all outstanding shares of Precision Castparts Corp., Portland, Ore., a manufacturer of complex metal components and products for the aerospace industry.
Closing is expected to occur during Q1 2016. PCC will continue to do business under the Precision Castparts name and maintain its headquarters in Portland.
Berkshire Hathaway and its subsidiaries engage in diverse business activities including insurance and reinsurance, utilities and energy, freight rail transportation, finance, manufacturing, retailing, and services.
