Bobcat to expand North Dakota operations

Bobcat Co. and Menlo Worldwide Logistics have announced the expansion of operations at Bobcat’s Manufacturing Support Center (MSC) in Bismarck, N.D., creating as many as 150 new positions.

Production of Bobcat® compact attachments is moving to the new facility from a Bobcat-owned plant in Litchfield, Minn. The company will continue to operate the Litchfield facility by moving heavy equipment attachment operations from a Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment facility in Statesville, N.C. The move involves about 65 positions, replacing more than one-third of the jobs currently in Litchfield.

Menlo has operated in Bobcat®s facilities as a strategic logistics partner since 2006.

Bobcat plans to renovate the former MSC and add a 50,000-sq.-ft. indoor arena with a 5-acre outdoor operation area to create an Innovation Center. The facility will bring together customer research evaluation, product testing and training, and manufacturing process refinement. The center will employ about 175 people, centralizing existing engineering jobs and adding new positions as well.
