Formtek-Maine adds turning center
Formtek-Maine, a manufacturer of coil metal processing and press feed equipment and systems in Clinton, Maine, has expanded its manufacturing capabilities with the purchase of a new Okuma LB4000 turning center. The machine is the fourth CNC turning center used to manufacture parts for the company’s products.
The turning center has the capacity to turn a 16.93-in.-dia. by 59-in.-long part. It is equipped with live tooling and a barstock feeder with 12 spindle liners. It will increase efficiency for the production of straightener rolls, which now will be produced entirely on one machine, eliminating station-to-station work processes.
