Gasbarre Furnace/J.L. Becker delivers dual-stage washer

Gasbarre Furnace Group/J.L. Becker Co., Plymouth, Mich., has shipped a 36- by 48- by 36-in. dual-solution, dual-chamber, multistage washer to a drive technology supplier in the Southeast. The washer is designed to remove quench oil, machine lubricants, and other contaminants from parts that are tightly racked into workloads weighing up to 4,000 lbs.

Dunking, oscillating, and spraying sequences are employed within the first chamber using the first wash solution. Loads are transferred to the second chamber, where a second solution removes any residual contaminants. Before exiting the washer, workloads are dried using a heated air drying system that incorporates two fans, dampers, and heater assemblies.

To enable lights-out operation, the washer incorporates a PLC, industrial PC, 19-in. operator interface touchscreen, and redundant sensors.
