GE Appliances plans second shift to increase refrigerator production

GE Appliances is adding 380 second-shift production employees at its Louisville, Ky., bottom-freezer refrigerator manufacturing facility. The company also has increased the number of new production employees working in the facility from the recently announced 600 to a total of 772. About 100 salaried positions also have been added to support the new plant and product.

According to the company, bottom-freezer refrigerators are the fastest-growing configuration of refrigerators currently on the market.
