GE invests $100 million in Kentucky laundry plant
GE has announced an investment of more than $100 million in a new topload washer design and expanded manufacturing capability at its laundry plant in Louisville, Ky.
The factory was redesigned using lean manufacturing principles. Pattern scheduling has been implemented in the plant to allow for a more varied mix of models to meet customer demand.
The washer is the largest ENERGY STAR®-rated model with an agitator on the market, at 4.2 cu. ft.
