General Dynamics Electric Boat to expand

General Dynamics Electric Boat and the Quonset Development Corp. have reached a 25-year lease agreement to expand Electric Boat's footprint at Quonset Business Park in Rhode Island by 42 acres, including more than 1 million sq. ft. of building space. The extended lease will allow Electric Boat to construct new facilities for submarine programs.

The company performs a variety of activities at Quonset, including manufacturing, hull fabrication, modular construction, coating, and steel processing. It employs more than 2,500 people there.
