General Electric opens plant in Alabama
General Electric has opened a 300,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing plant in Auburn, Ala. It produces parts for jet engines designed for commercial and military aircraft.
The plant, which eventually will employ about 400 people, is expected to employ 50 people by the end of the year.
