Hendrick celebrates 140 years in business

Hendrick Mfg., a provider of perforated and fabricated metal products, is commemorating its 140th anniversary this year. The company was founded by Eli E. Hendrick in 1876 in Carbondale, Pa., where it still operates today. He developed a way to refine oil, replacing wire cloth with holes drilled in metal, and opened the company to manufacture perforated metal screens for the coal and oil refining industries.

Since the founding, two additional manufacturing divisions have been established: Hendrick Screen Co. in Owensboro, Ky., a manufacturer of wedge wire and profile bar products; and Hendrick Metal Products in Elgin, Ill., a second perforation and fabrication facility serving Midwest customers.

To commemorate the anniversary, all Hendrick divisions will open their doors for facility tours on Manufacturing Day, Oct. 7, 2016.
